Julia + Erik | Chicago Engagement Session

I first met with Julia a few weeks ago, and I immediately knew we would work well together. We got together near her and Erik's south loop apartment at this adorable little coffee shop and talked all about the wedding and photography, and life in general. We immediately booked this engagement session to make sure we got the fall colors before they were gone! Julia and Erik both grew up in suburbs of Chicago, and will be getting married next spring up in Wisconsin! They were so much fun to work with, and we found some locations that I've never shot at in Chicago before, which is always awesome. We started out at a cute little park in the South Loop, and then on our way to the lakefront, we spotted this cool wall covered in ivy and stopped there. We made a pit stop at the beach by the planetarium, and then ended the session not far from there where we could see a different skyline view from one of their regular roller blading locations. I had so much fun braving the wind and the cold with these two love birds! They are so perfect together.

Kayleigh + Nick | Madison Engagement Photography

I don't even know where to start with these two. This is going to be a long post because I just have way too many favorites from this engagement session. It's worth it though, I promise! Kayleigh and Nick were like a breath of fresh air. They are so easy to love! Nick is a police officer, and Kayleigh is a nurse. I always like to ask my couples how they met and all that fun stuff... and I think Nick and Kayleigh's story of how they first met miiiight just be the best yet. Nick was working, and Kayleigh was driving home. Apparently Nick was following Kayleigh for a little bit before pulling her over, and the rest is history. I didn't ask, but I'm going to assume Kayleigh may have gotten out of that ticket. :p (no, he didn't ask for her number on the job, she did a little detective work and messaged him on facebook to ask him out for a date!) Love it.

They picked me up in Madison, and we drove out to Mt. Horeb to take some photos against the gorgeous Wisconsin countryside. The first stop was a farm in Nick's family, and the second location was the Hauge Log Church. The day was absolutely perfect. It was a little bit chilly, and by the end of the night I thought my fingers were going to fall off, but as you will see, it was totally worth it. I seriously cannot wait for their Wisconsin wedding next September!

The Schweitzer Family | Wisconsin Family Portraits

I spent this past weekend in Wisconsin shooting soooo many photos! It was so great. On Sunday, I spent some time with this lovely family. They were troopers in the cold weather. It even started sprinkling at one point, and there wasn't a single complaint! Molly (the oldest daughter) and Kyle were also VERY recently engaged! So we got to do just a couple of engagement photos during the family session as well.  :)

We started out in downtown Highland, Wisconsin where this gorgeous ivy covered wall was, and then headed out to Blackhawk Lake for the rest of our time. Despite the cold weather, these guys were awesome, and the fall colors were absolutely stunning.

Amanda + Matt's Iowa City Engagement Session

This past Sunday, I took a mini road trip out to Iowa City to get to know Amanda and Matt. We talked about the wedding plans and life, and now I am 10 times more excited for their Milford Hills Wedding next June in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin!

These two were so much fun, and watching them together it's obvious that they're meant to be. We started out in downtown Iowa City at the Old Capitol, and went inside the building where they first met! They sat in the same seats where they met in biology class (so cute). Then we headed over to Cedar Ridge Winery in Swisher, Iowa to finish up the session. Amanda and Matt are big winos (they're even making their own wine for the wedding!) so going to the vineyard was perfect. It was so so gorgeous, and we had the perfect weather. I'm so excited to share a few of the gorgeous images we were able to capture on that lovely Sunday afternoon.

Thanks for showing me a little bit of Iowa guys! I can't wait for the big day next year!
