Kaitlan + Mitch's Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge Wedding

Kaitlan and Mitch were absolutely perfect to work with. I didn't get to meet them until the wedding day, but they welcomed me with open arms and by the end of the day it was like I had known them for much longer than 10 crazy awesome hours. They were so comfortable with each other and weren't shy in front of the camera, which made my job so easy.

We were praying the rain would hold off all day, and although, I drove to the church in Naperville with my windshield wipers on, it cleared up by the time I got there that morning, and didn't come back the rest of the day. The whole day was full of love and fun, and I hope the spirit of the day comes through in the photos.

Kaitlan and Mitch, thank you for trusting me with your special day, and I hope Disney World was perfect!

Yum Squared Bakery LLC featured in Cake Central Magazine

It's Friday! Yay! I wanted to take a quick minute here and share this beautiful cake with you, made by the incredibly talented Tracy of Yum Squared Bakery in Chicago. When she asked me if I could take some photos for her to submit to Cake Central Magazine, of course I said yes! Food photography has always been a love of mine, and I'll always take the chance to do some pretty detail shots. 

We took these a while back, and now I'm excited that the magazine is out so I can share with you all! The first set of images is what the spread in the actual magazine looks like. Then I thought I'd show you guys some extra shots we took that I loved.

And now I'm craving cake. :)

Hadassah's West Andersonville Portrait Session | Chicago Portrait Photography

Say hello to the ever lovely, Hadassah! Yesterday we did a headshot exchange at this awesome park near my apartment. We weren't sure if it would work out or not, but the rain held off for us, and we were able to get some great shots. The sun was out, the grass was green, and there was laughter between every shot.

Julie and Travis

Last month I had the pleasure of capturing Julie and Travis' special day. We started out getting ready in The James Hotel, where Trisha from Starship Salon worked her magic on Julie's hair and makeup. From there we headed to the lake for some photos near the harbor, and then to Humboldt Park before heading to the venue. Their ceremony and reception were both held at Kitchen Chicago, which is just an awesome space. (If you saw Jen and Steve's wedding from the last post, you'll see I've been lucky enough to shoot here twice in one month!) It's just so pretty. At their reception, Julie and Travis had the genius idea of having board games for all of their guests to play at the end of the night... there were a few pretty intense games of Jenga.

The day was laid back and full of laughter and love. I had the wonderful Hadassah Bullis second shooting with me throughout the day, always making my job feel effortless. I hope you all enjoy the photos!
